WILD LIFE GARDEN - A SUSTAINABLE PROJECT
A sustainable garden with organic shapes and hidden spaces through sweet spots was the main objective of this design. We wanted to create a garden that adapted perfectly to this rectangular shaped backyard adding movement and excitement. As a wild life / sustainable project, more than 15 types of medium size fruit trees were planted to provide food, shelter, shade and to create points of interest that generated those hidden spots. All these trees as well as the Flower plants are resistant to the weather conditions of Florida and either act as perennials, evergreens or come back every season. All plants were introduced more than 3 years ago, successfully thriving through the seasons. All flower plants are providing food as well and part of them act as hosts to different types of butterflies. The host plants used in this garden are all Natives, considering the fauna that we have in Florida and the seasons for migrating species.
Many Herbs and cooking plants are part of the collection of flora available at the garden, making it convenient and interactive without much up keeping.
Another vital objective of this garden, was for the residents to have a space to decompress from daily routines and interact with nature, providing activities and comfort. The fire pit with river rocks for chilly nights and gatherings works wonderfully and the Stock tank pool adds a refreshing and relaxing spot as a water feature.
As an expanding project, the garden was design to leave enough room in the lot to build a workshop/in-law suite in the near future contemplating a blending cacti and native garden to expand on the variety and make optimum use of the space available.
[This garden is treated with natural products for fertilizing and pest control to avoid contamination and ensure the safety of humans and fauna].

CRISTINA'S GARDEN
Before and after, front yard design. Low maintenance, Florida natives, herbs and well adapted plants with lots of room to grow into a beautiful garden for many years to come. A sustainable garden with plenty of food generating plants for birds, bees, butterflies and pollinators in general. A front garden Oasis to be enjoyed by their owners and the fauna around them, providing comfort and wellness to everyone. Lots of beautiful colors, provide this cul de sac home the curve appeal desired by the client. As the plants grow, it will increasingly provide the lush but clean look we were going for, as well as privacy and shade. The new garden design allows enough air to flow through this growing ecosystem, promoting a healthy balance in between humidity and sunshine to protect the house itself and create a perfect temperature control outline for the building. This layout also allows plenty of filtered light to come into the house, creating a wonderful ambience that extends from the inside out.
